At age 17, Erol Josué was initiated as a houngan, or vodou priest. Josué’s mother is a vodou priestess and his late fatherto whom his new album, REGLEMAN, is dedicatedwas a vodou priest. "As an artist, I can help diffuse information about vodou in a way more people might understand.” Josué says. He infuses Haitian roots music with a variety of unexpected sounds.
Though he may have left his homeland to find his own identity, he soon came to realize that his calling was to bring his culture, spirituality, and music to the world. Haitian culture is one that is still held at arm’s length in the melting pot of New York City. So Erol Josue’s Regleman album is sure to experience some bumps as it eventually becomes accepted as a very personal recording of emotional music.
Thursday May 24th, come celebrate the release of Regelman and share in the energy which promises to open your soul.

Mick Rock, photographer extraordinaire and Mi5 Art Director had an intergalatic book release party at Hiro in New York on May 18th! His new book is Picture This, which collects more than 150 photographs of Blondie and Debbie Harry, and such glamorous people as Kate Moss, Ms. Harry, Boy George, Johnny Knoxville, John Ventimiglia, and Courtney Love (and so many more!) were out in their Tuesday Best to lend support to our friend Mick. It was madness I tell you!
